About the Monarch March 5k and Fun Run
The course starts at the Montessori School of Huntsville and winds out to a road before cutting through the Aldridge Creek Greenway, a stretch of natural trail that gives the run a different feel than a standard road race. It comes back through a neighborhood road to finish where it began. Pavement and trail share the route about evenly.
The race benefits the Montessori School of Huntsville, and awards go to top overall finishers as well as age-group winners. Because the course begins and ends at the school, the start area has a real anchor to it rather than a parking-lot feel.
