About the Michael J. Pitney Farm Run
The course runs entirely on grass and stone dust trails through the farm's open fields, with no road crossings and wide, smooth paths underfoot. The terrain is mostly flat with some gentle rolling. Because the route stays in the open, spectators can watch from the start area all the way through to the finish.
The community race runs in the morning, wrapping up before a high school cross country invitational takes over the farm later in the day. Proceeds benefit the farm itself, which sits in the heart of the city and runs educational and agricultural programs year-round.
