About the Maumee Holiday Hustle 5K, Walk, and Elf FUN RUN

The race starts and finishes in front of the Maumee Indoor Theater, and the opening and closing stretches run along the holiday parade route, so the crowd lining those sections is already in full celebration mode. There is a kids' fun run before the main event, and costume awards go to the best illuminated and most creative holiday outfits.

Packet pickup is available the day before at a running store in Perrysburg, with race-day registration at the theater as well. After the race, the holiday lights parade rolls through, so most people stick around. Refreshments are on hand at the finish area.

Common Questions About the Maumee Holiday Hustle 5K, Walk, and Elf FUN RUN

Will I finish last at the Maumee Holiday Hustle 5K, Walk, and Elf FUN RUN?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 30:17, and the last recorded finisher came in around 55:53, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Maumee Holiday Hustle 5K, Walk, and Elf FUN RUN a good first 5K?

It is a small race (160 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Maumee Holiday Hustle 5K, Walk, and Elf FUN RUN?

The 5K winner ran 16:47 while the median finisher took 30:17. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
