About the Maine Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay
The course runs out and back along Back Cove and Casco Bay, with rolling hills throughout. You get views of the Portland skyline and, if the timing works out, peak fall foliage. The marathon is a Boston qualifier, and the relay option lets a small team split the distance.
Packet pickup is the day before at a community center on Stevens Ave, with a shorter window at the field next to the start on race morning. Parking is free at several lots along Marginal Way, a short walk from the start, though the lots near the university now charge by the hour.

The Maine Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay has been held every year since at least 2012. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
