About the Los Runners Dia de Los Muertos 5K
The course loops around Bell Island and through Rowayton, finishing at the water's edge as the sun goes down over the Sound. It is a short evening run, and the timing around the end of Daylight Saving means the light at the finish can be genuinely pretty. The Dia de Los Muertos theme gives the whole thing a different feel than a typical fall 5K.
After you finish, the race connects runners with nearby Mexican restaurants from participating sponsors, and your race bib gets you a complimentary first drink. Proceeds go to local high school track and cross country programs, so the post-race crowd tends to include a lot of local athletes and their families.
