The course runs through Terry Hershey Park, a wooded trail corridor that winds along a creek. The terrain is mostly flat and paved, with tree cover that keeps things shaded. The race supports research into ocular melanoma, a rare eye cancer, so the crowd tends to be a mix of people personally connected to that cause alongside regular runners.
Parking is free and close to the start, near a neighborhood library on Eldridge. There is some construction on Eldridge that affects the turn into the library lot, but signs along the road point the way. Packet pickup happens race morning, so there is no separate trip to make the day before.
