The course runs through Terry Hershey Park, a wooded trail corridor that winds along a creek. The terrain is mostly flat and paved, with tree cover that keeps things shaded. The race supports research into ocular melanoma, a rare eye cancer, so the crowd tends to be a mix of people personally connected to that cause alongside regular runners.
