About the Livonia Turkey Trot

The course winds through the village on Thanksgiving morning, starting and finishing at the high school bus loop. It is a road race on a relatively short route. A kids race runs separately, staged near the finish line. Canned goods collected at the event go to a local food pantry, and all race donations benefit the Friends of Livonia.

Parking is free at the high school, with a couple of lots to choose from. Packet pickup the evening before is in the gymnasium off the main middle school entrance. On race morning, registration and pickup run from the same gymnasium until the start. Light snacks and refreshments are out after the race, and awards are announced once everyone has finished.

Common Questions About the Livonia Turkey Trot

Will I finish last at the Livonia Turkey Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 33:50, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:00:12, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Livonia Turkey Trot a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 578 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Livonia Turkey Trot?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:40 while the median finisher took 33:50. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
