About the Lions on the Leon Captain "D" Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk
The course starts at a pavilion in Heritage Park, heads out along Park Avenue, then loops back through a trail past some ball fields and beside the Leon River before returning to where it began. The terrain is mixed, so expect pavement and trail underfoot. A few water stations are spread through the route.
Packet pickup runs at a local insurance office on the evenings before the race, with a morning window at the park itself before the start. Road closures go into place shortly before the gun, so arriving early matters. Strollers are permitted on the course.
