About the Let Your Light Shine 5K

The course runs through Carrier Park along the French Broad River Greenway, mostly paved and flat with the river visible for much of the route. Open green space surrounds you, and the path is smooth underfoot. The race benefits Western Carolina Rescue Ministries, which works with Asheville's homeless community, so there is a clear sense of purpose behind the morning.

Packet pickup opens under the park pavilion before the start, which makes arrival straightforward. The pavilion also gives you a natural place to gather, drop a bag, and find people you know before heading to the start line.
