About the Langley and McLean Crew Turkey Trot

This is a Thanksgiving weekend race that starts and finishes at a local high school, with all proceeds going directly to the school rowing programs. The route is a run/walk on a single course, and the race draws families alongside runners. It has the feel of a neighborhood fundraiser that happens to be a timed race.

Packet pickup runs the evening before the race at the school, with bib pickup again on race morning before the start. Food trucks and a coffee vendor are on site in the morning, and they stick around after the finish along with a DJ. A bake sale rounds out the post-race scene.

Common Questions About the Langley and McLean Crew Turkey Trot

Will I finish last at the Langley and McLean Crew Turkey Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 34:59, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:06:24, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Langley and McLean Crew Turkey Trot a good first 5K?

A field of 315 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Langley and McLean Crew Turkey Trot?

The 5K winner ran 18:01 while the median finisher took 34:59. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
