The race starts and finishes at an event center on Scenic Drive in Alamogordo, with the course taking its name from the surrounding mountain landscape. Several distance options are available, from a short fun run up to a half marathon, so runners at different stages tend to show up. Packet pickup runs the day before at a downtown bank atrium, with race-morning pickup available at the start.
