About the 6th Annual Kickin It For Katy 5k run and 1.2 mile Walk
The course runs on the campus of Fairmont State University, which gives it a contained, walkable setting with paths that suit both runners and those coming out for the shorter walk. The terrain is campus ground, so expect pavement and gentle elevation rather than trails or sharp hills. The whole thing is organized around remembering someone, and that shapes the mood of the morning.
After the run and walk, a festival opens up on campus with live music, food trucks, face painting, a dunk tank, and vendor and awareness tables covering topics like addiction and veteran support. It runs alongside the race rather than after it, so there is activity happening from the time you arrive.
