About the Fairmont Fire 5k
The course starts and finishes at a fire station, running out and back on what is designed to be a fast, runnable route. The surroundings reflect the local department that the race supports, and the post-race area doubles as an open house of sorts, with fire trucks and gear on display for anyone who wants a closer look.
After you finish, there is music, food, and local vendors set up near the station. Members of the fire department are around to talk with, which gives the whole morning a neighborhood-block-party feel rather than a pure racing atmosphere.
