About the Journey Church Geaux for Gold 5K
This race is organized by a local church and raises funds for childhood cancer research. The course route is published online by the organizers, though the terrain and surroundings are not described in detail. The event draws people running in memory of or in honor of someone touched by cancer, which gives the morning a particular weight and purpose.
There are inflatable jumpers on site for kids, and the start area has a family feel to it. Registration is handled online in advance.
