About the Island Dash 5k
The course runs through Skidaway Island State Park, so the surroundings are natural and wooded rather than urban. Expect park roads and trails in a quiet setting, with shade likely for most of the route. The race is put on by a local church and benefits a non-profit that works with adolescent survivors of human trafficking.
Parking is free on site, and the organizers mention air-conditioned bathrooms, which is worth knowing if the morning is warm. Chip timing is used throughout.
