About the IDEA Public Schools 5K & Healthy Living Expo
This race is put on by a local public school network as part of a broader push to get students and families moving together. The course location is set closer to race day, so the terrain varies year to year, but the event draws school communities from across El Paso, which gives the start area a distinctly neighborhood feel.
Packet pickup runs over the two days before the race at the IDEA El Paso Regional Office on N Kansas Street, with an option to pick up on race morning at the start site.

The IDEA Public Schools 5K & Healthy Living Expo has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 25, 2026.
