About the ICCS Fest and Panther Run

The longer distances head north from Wilson Street, turn onto Shell Beach Drive, and run along the waterfront before looping back. The shorter color run stays in the neighborhood streets, weaving through the Margaret Place District on a loop that finishes where it started. All routes are on road, and the terrain is flat throughout.

Packet pickup is held at the school on the two days before the race, with a race-morning option as well. Registration is at the same location on race day. There is a festival after the run, with food and games included with entry.

Common Questions About the ICCS Fest and Panther Run

Will I finish last at the ICCS Fest and Panther Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 29:24, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:02:27, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the ICCS Fest and Panther Run a good first 5K?

It is a small race (56 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the ICCS Fest and Panther Run?

The 5K winner ran 18:31 while the median finisher took 29:24. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
