About the ICA 5K for Education
The course runs along the water and is flat throughout, so it tends to draw a wide range of paces. Chip timing with live results means you can see your split almost as soon as you cross the line. The race benefits Independence Classical Academy, a local charter school, and that connection gives the morning a neighborhood feel.
Packet pickup opens before the race start, with an opening ceremony in between. Awards go deep into age groups for both men and women, so runners toward the middle and back of the field have a real shot at hardware. Post-race snacks are on hand after you finish.
