The course winds through Dreher Park South, a shaded park setting that keeps things cooler than open-road races tend to in this kind of heat. The terrain is straightforward, without serious climbing, and the park surroundings make it feel more like a weekend morning run than a road race. The event raises money for an ovarian cancer awareness and research organization.
Packet pickup and registration open early on race morning at the park, so there is no need to plan around a separate pickup day. A post-race snack and awards ceremony follow the finish, held on-site.
