About the Hope in the Foothills 5K
The course runs on roads out of Doodle Park and comes back to where it started, so the finish line is right where you left. Police officers are stationed along the route to keep participants moving safely. The surroundings are the foothills of Pickens, and the course stays on pavement throughout.
Parking at the trailhead is tight, so arriving early and sharing a ride helps. After the race, local resource groups are set up on site with educational materials and free Narcan. It is worth staying to walk through, even briefly.
