About the 2026 #HonorMark 5K, 10K, 5k Ruck & Kids Fun Run

The race runs through Daffin Park in Midtown Savannah, honoring Mark Hummeldorf, a Marine Corps veteran, firefighter, and paramedic who received the Purple Heart. The course is a park loop, with the longer distance option covering the same ground twice. A ruck option is available alongside the standard running distances, and a separate kids run keeps younger participants in the mix.

Packet pickup runs at a local coffee shop and then at a running store in Savannah on the two days before the race. After the finish, there are beverages, snacks, a raffle, and awards. A bouncy house is set up for kids, so families tend to stick around.

Common Questions About the 2026 #HonorMark 5K, 10K, 5k Ruck & Kids Fun Run

Will I finish last at the 2026 #HonorMark 5K, 10K, 5k Ruck & Kids Fun Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 38:51, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:27:36, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 2026 #HonorMark 5K, 10K, 5k Ruck & Kids Fun Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 342 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 2026 #HonorMark 5K, 10K, 5k Ruck & Kids Fun Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:17 while the median finisher took 38:51. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
