About the Hold the Fort 10K, 5K, & 1 Mile Warrior Walk
The courses run through Oak Mountain State Park, on roads that wind through wooded terrain. The tree cover and quiet surroundings feel removed from the surrounding area. Several distance options mean the morning works for serious runners and casual walkers alike, and the race benefits an organization working with children rescued from human trafficking, so the cause sits close to the surface.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at a Full Moon BBQ in Pelham, a practical stop if you want to avoid race-morning chaos. Check-in opens early on race day at the Dogwood Pavilion inside the front gate. Park admission is covered by registration, so spectators are the only ones who need to sort out entry separately.
