About the Impact Road Race 5K
The course runs on open roads through Oak Mountain State Park, so expect real pavement with traffic still moving alongside you. The race is USATF-certified, which means the distances are measured properly and times here can count toward qualifying for other certified events. Several distance options make it work for a range of goals on the same morning.
The start area opens well before the gun for packet pickup, so there is no scramble if you arrive early. Post-race, a local nonprofit called Seeds of Impact is the reason the event exists; it supports mothers in recovery through parenting education, so the gathering at the finish tends to feel purposeful rather than purely athletic.
