About the 4th Annual Hi-Neighbor 5K
The course runs along Blackstone Boulevard, a tree-lined path that is one of Providence's better-known stretches for running. The road surface is smooth, the terrain flat, and the surroundings are green enough that it does not feel like a city race. It draws a wide range of paces, and the entry is free.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running store, with race-morning check-in available as well. The race is part of the city's Fitness in the Parks program, and there is a post-race celebration afterward. Runners can also make a voluntary donation to Crossroads Rhode Island, a local organization focused on housing stability.
