About the Haunted Halloween Hustle
The course runs on the Pumpkinvine trail, a paved path lined with old trees and completely separated from traffic except at a handful of crossroads, where police and volunteers are posted. Every distance goes out and back on the same trail, so there are no turns to miss and no navigation to think about. The surface is smooth and the tree cover makes it feel tucked away.
Packet pickup happens on a couple of evenings before the race, including one at a running store in Mishawaka and one at the Abshire Park pavilion, with race-morning pickup available there as well. There is no participant parking at the park itself; a local Boy Scout troop directs runners to nearby businesses along Lincoln Avenue instead. At the finish, expect pretzels, hot cocoa, soup, coffee, cookies, and fruit.
