About the Harvest Marathon Relay

The Harvest Marathon Relay is a team race held at Rice University, where runners split a full marathon among themselves and cross one shared finish line. Every mile run is tied to the Houston Food Bank, so the effort has a direction beyond the clock. Teams can compete head-to-head for time, or run together without the pressure of standings, and the collaborative format even allows friendly interference between teams.

The race runs out of a track on campus, which gives the start area a proper athletic feel. This year the event is also hosting a Guinness World Record attempt by an elite relay squad drawn from the broader race community, so there will be something unfolding at the front of the field worth watching even if your team is running for fun.
