About the Halloween Hustle 5K & Kids Dash
The Halloween Hustle runs through Palatine in the fall, and costumes are a genuine part of the scene, not an afterthought. The course starts and finishes near the race organizer's event office, and the kids' dash goes off before the main race, so families tend to stick around the start area for a while before things settle into a running event.
Packet pickup the evening before is at a running store in Hoffman Estates. There is also race-morning pickup under the white tents at the start, though that option carries an added fee. After the race, the party moves to Tap House Grill, where there is a half breakfast sandwich and a beer, plus awards and music.
