About the Half A#$ Half Race

The race runs out and back from Lamasco Park, a neighborhood park on the north side of Evansville. Both distance options follow the same corridor, so shorter and longer runners share the course. Out-and-back routes mean you see the same scenery twice, which some people find grounding and others find honest.

Packet pickup happens the evening before at a local fitness shop, with a race-morning window at the park as a backup. The race goes on in rain, though organizers will hold the start if there is threatening weather nearby.

Common Questions About the Half A#$ Half Race

Will I finish last at the Half A#$ Half Race?

Almost certainly not. Half the 6.55 Miles field finished slower than 1:08:40, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:59:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Half A#$ Half Race a good first 6.55 Miles?

It is a small race (68 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 6.55 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Half A#$ Half Race?

The 6.55 Miles winner ran 45:48 while the median finisher took 1:08:40. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
