About the 5th Annual Evansville Zombie 5K Run/Walk
The course starts at the nature center in Wesselman Park, winds through a bike trail and an open parking lot, cuts behind an Army Reserve building toward an armory, then takes a gravel path to a bridge and crosses to a scout center before turning around and heading back. Flags mark the way if you drift off course.
This is a Halloween-themed event with a survival storyline baked into the route. Runners are trying to dodge volunteers playing zombies who will try to tag them with fake blood, so wear something you can get messy. There is a Halloween party at the park after the race, with snacks and water at the finish.
