About the Hades Climb - Springfield, MO

Hades Climb is a stair-climbing endurance challenge, not a road race. Participants pick a time window and then repeat loops of stairs for the full duration, ringing a bell at the end of each lap. Sparks, fire elements, and loud music are part of the atmosphere on course, which leans theatrical and intense by design.

Packet pickup opens at the event site on race morning before the first wave starts, so there is no separate day-before pickup to plan around. The staggered wave format means different challenge lengths start within a short window of each other. A certificate is handed out at the finish line.

Common Questions About the Hades Climb - Springfield, MO

Will I finish last at the Hades Climb - Springfield, MO?

Almost certainly not. Half the race field finished slower than 50:57, and the last recorded finisher came in around 56:55, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Hades Climb - Springfield, MO a good first race?

It is a small race (40 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first race, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Hades Climb - Springfield, MO?

The race winner ran 18:29 while the median finisher took 50:57. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
