About the Greenwing Waddle 5K
The course runs along the beaches near Lewes, starting and finishing at the Beacon Inn. The race benefits wetlands conservation and waterfowl habitat programs, so there is a purpose behind the miles beyond the finish line. The terrain is coastal, and the surroundings are open and scenic in the way that beach-adjacent running tends to be.
After finishing, there are cookies and hot cocoa at the Beacon Inn, and a chance to get a photo with Santa. The post-race setup is simple and warm, which fits a race held in the colder part of the year on the Delaware coast.
