About the Greenleaf 5K River Run for the Fund
The course follows the shoreline near Ocean Beach, running along pavement with Long Island Sound alongside you for most of the route. It is flat throughout, so you can focus on the scenery or on the clock, whichever you came for. The race benefits a memorial scholarship fund for local students, so there is a reason behind the morning beyond the finish line.
Parking is free at Ocean Beach. Packet pickup and registration open well before the gun. After the finish, a food truck sets up with pizza, salad, and desserts, all free to participants, and there are also refreshments including cheese, crackers, fruit, and beverages. A post-race raffle rounds out the morning.
