About the 20th Annual Golden Gallop
The course loops through downtown Golden, passing under the town's landmark welcome arch before returning to Golden High School. The route runs through the heart of the street grid rather than a trail or park, so expect pavement and a look at the town itself. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome in the longer distances, starting from the back.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at Runners Roost, a local running shop on Ford Street, with race-morning pickup available at the high school as well. There is a spaghetti dinner the evening before at the Golden Hotel. Post-race awards include cash prizes for top finishers and age group recognition across a wide spread of categories.
