About the All-Out Kooky-Spooky

The course follows Ralston Creek Trail along the edge of Blunn Reservoir, mostly on concrete with short stretches of asphalt and a brief unpaved section worth knowing about if you use a wheelchair or stroller. The route is an out-and-back, so you get a second look at the same scenery returning. The foothills sit in the background the whole way.

Packet pickup is available the afternoon before at a location announced closer to the date, and again race morning before each distance goes off. The race leans into the Halloween theme, with a costume contest running in the hours before the last wave starts. Post-race, the engraving tent is worth a stop.

Common Questions About the All-Out Kooky-Spooky

Will I finish last at the All-Out Kooky-Spooky?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:21:41, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:39:14, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the All-Out Kooky-Spooky a good first 13.1 Miles?

A field of 261 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the All-Out Kooky-Spooky?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:19:24 while the median finisher took 2:21:41. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
