About the Freedom Run 5K - McDonough
The race starts and finishes at Momentum Christian Church and benefits a nonprofit working with people affected by exploitation and trafficking in Costa Rica. The course is a road run, open to both runners and walkers across two distance options. It takes place over Independence Day weekend, so the surrounding energy is celebratory, with families, church groups, and neighbors alongside more competitive runners.
Early packet pickup is offered at Momentum Christian Church a couple of days before race day, which helps thin out the morning rush at the start. Age group awards go deep across the field for the longer distance, with overall and masters categories recognized as well.
