About the Fredericksburg SPCA Rescue Run 5K
The course is open to leashed dogs, so expect four-legged company along the way. Owners with dogs are asked to start toward the back, which keeps the front of the pack clear for people running hard while everyone else spreads out behind them.
The race benefits the local SPCA, so the crowd skews toward people who showed up for the animals as much as for the miles. It has the feel of a morning that matters to the people who organized it, and the dogs tend to make the atmosphere their own.

The Fredericksburg SPCA Rescue Run 5K has been held every year since at least 2020. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 25, 2026.
