About the Gus 5K
The course starts near a minor league baseball stadium, where the team mascot sends runners off with high-fives, and finishes on the actual field. Between those two points, the route moves through city streets, with volunteers in team jerseys stationed along the way. The finish line is on the grass, with fans in the stands above you.
After crossing the finish, there are ballpark snacks and games on the field. The race benefits local youth programs through the team's charitable foundation, so the crowd around the finish tends to include families connected to that work as much as runners.
