About the 34th Annual YMCA Turkey Trot

The course runs through downtown Fredericksburg on Thanksgiving morning, so there is a holiday crowd energy without anyone making a big deal of it. The route passes through a historic downtown of old buildings and wide streets. The race offers distances for adults and kids, with the youngest children running a short tot trot the evening before on a track.

Waves are used for the main race, grouped by expected pace, so the start feels manageable even when the field is large. If you are running with someone, match your wave selections ahead of time using the pace of whoever is slowest in your group.
