About the Foundations 4 Hope 5K - Kentucky
The course starts and finishes near the Coldstream Dog Park and the Legacy Trail in north Lexington, close to a paved path that makes the footing easy for runners and walkers alike. The race has a relay option where teams carry a heavy jerry can filled with water across the course, no straps allowed, which gives the morning a different texture than a straight road race.
The start area is near the dog park, so there is open space around the finish. The race is organized by a Christian nonprofit whose work centers on clean water and church support in East Africa, and that mission is visible in how the event is framed, particularly through the jerry can relay.
