About the Fort Gordon Turkey Trot 5K
The course runs through a disc golf course on the Fort Eisenhower base, on a partially closed route. The surroundings are open and park-like, and the pace of the morning is unhurried. There are no age group placements or timing chips, so it draws people who just want to move around on a holiday morning.
Packet pickup happens at Engineer Field on race morning, before the start. Anyone without a DoD base pass needs to arrange a visitor pass at least a day ahead through the Army's visitor pre-registration system. The entry is through the main gate, then left on Kilborne Street toward Engineer Field and the dog park.
