About the Fort Gordon Color Run 5K/3K
The course starts on a street beside Barton Field and runs through the base, with colored powder thrown at participants along the way. It is an untimed fun run, so there is no clock pressure and the pace is whatever you want it to be. Music plays during the event, and the crowd is a genuine mix of ages.
Runners check in at the softball area on Barton Field before the start. Parking is spread across several spots near the field, including lots along Barton Field itself and near a few surrounding base buildings. Visitors without a DoD pass need to arrange a visitor pass in advance through the Army's base access site before arriving.
