About the Fort De Soto Oktoberfest 15K•10K•5K
The course runs through Fort De Soto Park, a barrier island park with wide beaches, salt water on both sides, and flat paved paths through the preserve. The longer distances give you more time out along the shoreline. Waves start a few minutes apart in the early morning, so the park is still quiet when the first runners head out.
Packet pickup is available the two evenings before the race at a running store in Tampa and another in Saint Petersburg, with a race-morning option at the park for those who need it. Parking inside the park closes early in the morning and does not reopen, so plan to arrive well before the gate shuts. Post-race there is craft beer, food, and live music on site.
