About the Footsteps For Families

The course is built around awareness, with markers along the way highlighting child abuse prevention research as runners and walkers move through it. The race is organized by a student global health group at Rutgers in partnership with a statewide child advocacy organization, so the cause is woven into the morning, not just mentioned on a flyer.

Food and drink are out after the race, and there is music and games once you finish. Prizes go to the top finishers in the main run, and the whole event is a fundraiser for the prevention programs the partner organization runs across the state.
