About the 7th Annual Healthy Start Mind & Body 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run

The course runs along the Occoquan River through Occoquan Regional Park, on paved surface the whole way. The river stays close through most of the route, and the surrounding park keeps it green and open. There is a kids run alongside the main race, so families show up in good numbers.

A DJ plays during the event, and the race wraps up under the park pavilion with a catered meal and an awards ceremony. The race raises awareness for Alzheimer's disease, and there is an option to donate directly to the Alzheimer's Association through the registration process.
