About the Firecracker 5k/1-Mile Fun Run
The course is USATF certified and hugs the lakefront harbor and historic district, so there is scenery to look at while you run. The roads are closed to traffic, and a few aid stations are spaced along the route. It reads as a straightforward out-and-back or loop near the water, nothing technical underfoot.
The start and race-morning packet pickup are both at Library Park. If you want to skip the morning rush, pickup runs the day before at the Kenosha YMCA. Public lots and street parking surround the park, but the signage about unauthorized lots is serious, so give yourself time to find a legal spot.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Firecracker 5k/1-Mile Fun Run has been held every year since at least 2019. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
