About the Fido Fest 5K and Fun Run

This race runs through Ashley Park, an outdoor shopping and dining district in Newnan, and dogs are part of the deal. Well-behaved, vaccinated pups are welcome on the course alongside their people. The shorter distance is untimed and easy-paced, drawing families and four-legged participants. The longer route is USATF certified and qualifies for the Peachtree Road Race.

After the race, the event opens into a street fair with food trucks, vendors, and live entertainment. It benefits Hearts 'n Homes Rescue, a local all-volunteer nonprofit that pulls at-risk dogs from shelters in the county. Water and waste bags are available on course for anyone running with a dog.
