About the Run for Angels

The course is a certified road route through historic downtown Newnan, starting and finishing on Salbide Ave beside a church parish hall. The streets have some history to them, and the race benefits a local foster shelter for teenage girls, so the cause runs close to the people out there running it.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon and evening before the race at the same parish hall where the race starts. Race-morning pickup opens early. The start area features a short fun run, a warm-up, and brief remarks from the shelter before the main race goes off.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2026 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Run for Angels

Will I finish last at the Run for Angels?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:02, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:34, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run for Angels a good first 5K?

A field of 274 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run for Angels?

The 5K winner ran 17:59 while the median finisher took 36:02. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
