About the FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES 5K RUN/WALK

This is a fundraiser for a regional athletic ministry, and the entry fee structure rewards groups, with a discount kicking in once a team hits a certain size and a trophy going to the largest team. The course starts and finishes outside a running specialty store on N Mesa, which doubles as the hub for everything before the gun goes off.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at that same store, with a second window on race morning before the start. Post-race refreshments are on hand at the finish area.

Common Questions About the FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES 5K RUN/WALK

Will I finish last at the FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES 5K RUN/WALK?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 31:33, and the last recorded finisher came in around 54:33, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES 5K RUN/WALK a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (103 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES 5K RUN/WALK?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 18:23 while the median finisher took 31:33. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
