About the Farmland 5K, 10K, & Kid's Race
The course runs across private farmland outside Traverse City, mixing open turf grass with wooded dirt trails and rolling fields. It has the feel of a true cross country race, the kind where footing changes underfoot and the terrain keeps you honest. The adults' courses run in opposite directions, so the landscape reads differently depending on which distance you chose.
Packet pickup is race morning at the farm itself, so there is no separate trip the day before. Parking puts you right at the start and finish area in a field next to an elementary school. After the races, with most runners finishing around the same time, the farm setting tends to hold people a while. There are pumpkins out for the kids to decorate.
