Earth Day 5K

Rochester, MI

Registration openAnnual since at least 2025

About the Earth Day 5K

The race runs through Bloomer Park, which gives it a natural, wooded setting that fits the Earth Day theme without any effort. The course stays in the park, so you are surrounded by trees and open green space the whole way rather than dodging traffic or navigating downtown streets.

Check-in opens in the morning before the start, right at the park. There is no off-site packet pickup to worry about, so you can show up, get your bib, and be ready without any extra stops the day before.

Common Questions About the Earth Day 5K

Will I finish last at the Earth Day 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 38:06, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:05:54, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Earth Day 5K a good first 5K?

It is a small race (192 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Earth Day 5K?

The 5K winner ran 21:29 while the median finisher took 38:06. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
